This Privacy Policy describes how Atlas (“Atlas,” “we,” “us”) handles information across the Atlas AI Visibility Platform (my.atlasforai.com and app.atlasforai.com) and the Atlas for WP WordPress plugin (free and Pro editions).
Account Information
Creating an Atlas account requires registering on my.atlasforai.com (WordPress + WooCommerce). We store your email address, display name, WordPress user ID, and subscription status. Sign-in issues a short-lived authentication token that your browser keeps in session storage (cleared when you close the tab) — Atlas does not use tracking cookies. Billing and payment details are handled by WooCommerce on my.atlasforai.com; Atlas’s backend only receives a subscription active/inactive flag via a signed webhook, never your card details.
Business and Website Data You Provide
To track your AI visibility, you provide information about your business: name, website URL, domain, description, industry/business type, target audience, tracked competitors, and the prompts/queries you want monitored. This data is stored in our database, scoped to your account, and used to generate the checks described below.
AI Model Providers
Atlas’s core feature is checking how AI assistants describe your business. To do this, your tracked prompts — together with contextual business details needed to interpret the response (such as your business name, domain, and competitor names) — are sent to third-party AI providers you’ve selected:
- OpenAI (ChatGPT)
- Anthropic (Claude)
- Google (Gemini)
- Perplexity AI
- xAI (Grok)
Each provider’s response text, any citations/sources it references, and a computed sentiment/visibility score are stored in your Atlas account. Each provider processes this data under its own privacy policy and terms; Atlas does not control how these providers use data beyond the scope of a single API request.
Optional Third-Party Integrations
Atlas offers optional, opt-in integrations that you connect via OAuth. You can disconnect any of these at any time from the Integrations page.
- Google Search Console — with your explicit consent via Google’s OAuth screen, Atlas requests read-only access (
webmasters.readonlyscope) to the Search Console properties your Google account has verified. We use this access solely to retrieve Search Analytics data — clicks, impressions, click-through rate, average position, dates, queries, and pages — for the property you select, and display it as trend charts and top-queries/top-pages tables in your Atlas dashboard. On first connection we backfill up to 90 days of history, then continue syncing daily. This data is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used to train AI models, and is only shown to your own Atlas account. Access and refresh tokens are stored encrypted at rest. Disconnecting the integration (available any time from the Integrations page) immediately revokes Atlas’s access with Google and stops further syncing; previously synced historical metrics remain in your account until you delete the associated business or request full account deletion (see Data Retention and Deletion below). - LinkedIn — sign-in and post-drafting access (OpenID Connect +
w_member_socialscope) so Atlas can prepare and, at your request, publish posts to your personal LinkedIn profile. LinkedIn access tokens are stored and expire after roughly 60 days.
Atlas for WP (WordPress Plugin)
The free Atlas for WP plugin generates llms.txt, llms.md, and per-page Markdown files from your own site’s public content; this processing happens entirely on your WordPress server and is not sent to Atlas. If you generate an API key on the plugin’s Atlas Connection tab, that key allows the Atlas AI Visibility Platform (Pro’s Content API) to read your site’s REST availability status and push content suggestions to your own WordPress site — this exchange is between your site and your own Atlas account, and the key can be revoked at any time from your WordPress admin.
Email Communications
We send transactional and account emails (trial reminders, visibility digests, content-opportunity alerts) using SendGrid, based on the notification preferences in your account settings. You can adjust or disable digest emails from the Notifications page at any time.
Data Storage and Security
Atlas is hosted on secure, industry-standard cloud infrastructure. All data is scoped to your account — no other Atlas customer can read or modify your businesses, prompts, or integration data. OAuth tokens and API secrets are encrypted at rest.
Data Retention and Deletion
You can delete a tracked business, disconnect any integration, or remove individual conversations directly from your Atlas dashboard. To request deletion of your entire account and associated data, contact us using the details below.
Children’s Privacy
Atlas is a business tool not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as Atlas’s features change. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above.
