How Atlas tracks Gemini
Atlas sends tracked questions to the Gemini API and classifies the returned answers for brand mentions, website citations, and recommendations. On eligible AI Search Results checks, it enables Google Search grounding and records the search queries and source metadata returned by the API.

From tracked prompts to visibility evidence
Gemini answer tracking is available within your assistant allowance, including Starter. Grounding and AI Search Results capture are separately plan-gated and are not performed on every check.
Answer-level measurement
Measure brand mentions, recommendation signals, and links found in saved Gemini answer text.
Grounding query evidence
Eligible grounded checks can reveal search queries reported by Gemini, giving you more context than the final answer alone.

Review available grounding sources in AI Search Results. Search-source presence is distinct from an explicit recommendation in the answer.
Start tracking Gemini in Atlas
No personal Gemini login or browser extension is required. Tracking runs through Atlas's provider connection.
Add your website
Set your business name, domain, location, and language so Atlas can identify your brand in answers.
Choose your assistants
Select Gemini in your website's assistant settings, where your plan requires a selection. Your existing assistant allowance still applies.
Track customer questions
Add or review suggested prompts in Manage Prompts, activate the questions you want to monitor, and start tracking.
Review changes over time
Compare saved answers and visibility trends on AI Assistants and Prompt Results. Active prompts are eligible for daily scheduled checks while your account remains eligible.
Is Google Search grounding always enabled?
No. Atlas enables it for eligible AI Search Results captures, currently limited to a weekly capture window per prompt. Ordinary answer checks may not use search grounding.
Does this measure Google AI Overviews or AI Mode?
No. Gemini API tracking is not a Google Search AI Overview or AI Mode ranking report, and it does not guarantee the same answers as the Gemini consumer app.
Can search evidence exist without Gemini being selected?
Yes. Eligible plans can capture a separate background grounded Gemini check for AI Search Results. That background capture is not shown as a selected-assistant tracking result.
